How to Look Good in Pictures

Step 1 Locate where you will be taking your photos. Choose a location with a good light source, preferably outdoors, but if you would rather stay indoors, use a bright light that won't cast shadows on your face. Step 2 Set up your digital camera. Turn the flash to automatic. If you have a portrait function on your camera, turn that on. Step 3 Sit down in the location you have chosen to take pictures. Make sure you are comfortable because you may be there for awhile trying to get a good picture. Step 4 When you have been seated and are comfortable, tilt your head slightly back and stick your chin out slightly. Then, move the camera above eye level. Look into the camera lens and take a picture. Step 5 Review the picture you have taken. Is your head completely in the picture? How does your face look? If you are satisfied with how thin you look, pat yourself on the back. If not, continue to step 6. Step 6 Return to your original location with the light source and comfortable seating. Tilt your head back and stick out your chin like before. This time, turn the camera so that it is long ways (the button you push to take the picture should be on the left or right now). Try taking the picture this way. Step 7 Review the picture you have taken. If you are not satisfied with the pictures, play around with the angle of the camera and how you are tilting your head. Eventually, you will find an angle that works for you and you will take a beautiful picture every time. |

Learning you to say, "Cheeeese!!" helps too! Most photographers just take a lot of pictures and cull out the best. With digital photography now that is very inexpensive and produces immediate results.
